The Journal was founded in Spring, 2001 by the Delta Omega Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha at Purdue University, under the name The American Undergraduate Journal of Politics and Government. In 2004, the Journal received formal sponsorship from Pi Sigma Alpha and became the Pi Sigma Alpha Undergraduate Journal of Politics. Currently, it is co-edited by John Nobrega and Kevin Rautenstrauch, members of Zeta Upsilon Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha at Union College (NY).
