SUBMISSION OF MATERIAL to the Pi Sigma Alpha Newsletter

As the official news and information publication of Pi Sigma Alpha- The National Political Science Honor Society, the Newsletter welcomes submissions of chapter news, information, activities, awards and/or honors or other events and occurrences that are of interest to the Society's membership that have affected chapters or their host universities, student or faculty members or departments at large. Any student or faculty advisor from a recognized Pi Sigma Alpha chapter is welcome to submit such material by sending it to the Editor, John Kuzenski, at username "jkuzens" at mailserver "ncsu.edu" (sorry about the labored presentation of email address, which is being used to foil spambots). Material may also be submitted to Nancy McManus, Administrator of the National Office, by emailing username "office" at mailserver "pisigmaalpha.org." Occasionally, the Newsletter publishes material from non-Pi Sigma Alpha sources that are of interest to the membership of the Society; usually this material is from one of the academic organizations with which the Society has a close and productive working relationship. Material from non-Society sources should be sent directly to Ms. McManus at the email address above. Submission of material is no guarantee of acceptance or final publication. By submitting material for publication, individuals transfer their copyright and/or all other rights affecting creative literary or pictorial works to Pi Sigma Alpha. Submissions should at no time include material to which the submitter does not hold full intellectual property rights or should include a valid, documented waiver from the party which does. Submissions may be edited or slightly altered to comply with in-house formatting/editing rules or space requirements of the publication.

Short text-based features such as chapter news may be submitted via email in native form, i.e. the relevant information can be posted in an informal message; the Editor will transform that material into publishable content. Longer stories should be submitted as a file attachment in MS-Word format. Photographs should be sent in either GIF or JPG format, and must be no greater than one megabyte (1 MB) in size. For longer features that include a combination of text and photographs, submitters should not pre-format their document attachment with in-line photos; please provide only the text in one file and attach all photographs in separate files. Captions, if any, for the photographs may be included at the bottom of the text file.

Please, when sending email and/or attachments, do not use (or use as little as possible) special software, codes, etc. that are not part of the basic story or photographs-- our experience has been that the fancier one tries to make a submission look when sent, the more problematic it is to format and place the selection properly in the final version of the Newsletter. The Editor reserves the right to delete or otherwise make no use of any submissions that do not conform to our submission policy and/or otherwise present formatting dilemmas that will slow down the publication schedule.

Any questions or comments about submitting material to the Newsletter should be addressed to the Editor at the email address provided above.
